June 14 2025 The North Platte 80s powered past the Santa Fe Fuego 17-3 at Fort Marcy Park, collecting 14 hits and scoring in five innings. North Platte took a 2-1 lead in the first, added two runs in the third and one in the fourth, then broke the game open with four runs in the sixth and eight in the ninth. Santa Fe scored twice in the eighth and finished with 10 hits.
Rico Riley went 3-for-5 with four runs, two RBI and three stolen bases, while
Jake Boucher went 2-for-4 with four runs, two RBI and two walks.
Coby Tweten added two hits and two runs, and
Aidan Diltz drove in two runs. North Platte also received two RBI from
Mike Nestor and three from
Caleb Copeland. Boucher, Riley and Copeland each hit a home run for the 80s.
Nestor earned the win after allowing one run on eight hits over seven innings. He walked one and struck out eight while throwing 65 strikes in 101 pitches.
Ray White and
Cade Herrmann each worked one scoreless inning in relief.
Xavier Fosbenner took the loss for Santa Fe after allowing nine runs, eight earned, on six hits in 5.2 innings. He issued 11 walks and struck out six.
Wu KaunJu followed with 2.1 scoreless innings, while
Cameron Phillips gave up eight runs in one inning.
